Are people going to extremes soliciting their souls in order to attain best answer points on yahoo answers?

I have noticed that people are seemingly overhelpful occasionally on yahoo answers. Is the points scheme addictive or something? It's like propogating conformity. It's kinda freaky to be honest. Overly helpful people giving over the top advice, just in an effort to secure that vital 10 points extra bonus, or gilded "top contributor" icon. Maybe it's just me but in real life if people were that helpful i would be kinda freaked out and walk slowly away from their general location. Thought i'd point that out anyways. *shrugs.
